Meet Zig and Zag β one dragon, two heads, and two completely opposite ideas about everything. Zig loved things that were BIG and LOUD. Zag loved things that were small and quiet. They agreed on absolutely nothing. Not breakfast. Not bedtime. Not even which foot to hop on.
That morning, a bluebird landed on their doorstep with a shiny ticket in her beak. 'The Great Meadow Talent Show!' she chirped. 'Tonight! One act per creature!' Zig gasped. 'Our ROAR-AND-SOAR!' Zag gasped louder. 'Our DISAPPEARING EGG TRICK!' The bluebird looked from head to head. 'Oh dear,' she said, and flew off.
'Roar-and-Soar!' 'Egg trick!' 'ROAR-AND-SOAR!' 'EGG TRICK!' They argued so hard their necks tied in a bow. They argued through lunch. They argued until the shadows grew long. 'We're wasting practice time,' puffed Zag at last. 'Fine,' huffed Zig. 'Let someone ELSE pick.' Both heads turned⦠and looked right at you.
'You choose,' said Zig. 'ONE act. We'll practise it all afternoon β no take-backs.' Zag nodded. 'Whichever you pick, we BOTH do our best. Dragon's promise.' Zig's act: the Roar-and-Soar, a mighty loop-the-loop with a glitter-puff roar. Zag's act: the Disappearing Egg, the trickiest trick in the meadow. Which will it be?
