Elly and the Star-Crossed Lovers

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Elly who loved to look at the stars. Every night, she would climb up to her rooftop with her special telescope. "Good night, stars!" Elly would say, waving up at the twinkling sky. One night, Elly saw two very special stars. One star was bright blue and sparkled like a jewel. "Twinkle, twinkle!" went the blue star. The other star was warm and golden like sunshine. "Shimmer, shimmer!" went the golden star. "Hello, little stars!" said Elly through her telescope. "You look so pretty tonight!" *Wink, wink!* went the blue star. *Glow, glow!* went the golden star, as if saying hello back! Elly looked in her big book about stars. "Oh!" she said excitedly. "These are Prince Blue Star and Princess Golden Star! They live far apart in the sky, but they're best friends!" Every night, Elly would look for her two star friends. "Where are my star friends? Where are they?" she would say, looking through her telescope. "There you are! Twinkle, twinkle, blue star! Shimmer, shimmer, golden star!" She watched them dance and shine across the dark sky. "I wish you could play together," Elly whispered to them. "You look so lonely so far apart." One night, something amazing happened! The two stars started moving closer and closer to each other. "Look, look!" said Elly, bouncing with excitement. "Prince Blue Star and Princess Golden Star are coming together!" The stars moved closer... "Twinkle, twinkle!" said Blue Star. And closer... "Shimmer, shimmer!" said Golden Star. And closer... "We're almost there!" they seemed to say together. Until... FLASH! The whole sky lit up with the most beautiful light Elly had ever seen! It was like the biggest, most colorful firework in the whole universe! When the bright light faded, Elly looked through her telescope again. Where the two separate stars used to be, now there was one magnificent star that sparkled with both blue AND gold! "You did it!" Elly cheered happily. "Now you can be together forever!" The new blue-and-gold star twinkled extra bright, as if it was saying "Thank you for watching over us!" From that night on, Elly had the most special star in the whole sky to wish upon. Every night, she would look up at her beautiful blue-and-gold star friend and smile. "Good night, Star Friends," she would whisper. "Sweet dreams!" And the star would twinkle back, glowing with the happiness of two friends who found a way to be together at last. The End
