Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't put Humpty together again.
The king's men all panicked and rushed off to plan. But up Humpty jumped, and away the egg ran! "I'll fix myself!" Off he went down the street, crunch crunch crunch on his little egg feet.
Poor Humpty kept going. Then ACHOO! A sneeze! His cracks grew much bigger. "Oh no! Help me, please!" But look, up ahead, shining bright in the sun, a castle! A market! He started to run!
A castle and a busy market. Where is Humpty running?

The Mystery: Was Humpty Dumpty a Cannon?
Did you know that a long time ago, the rhyme wasn't about an egg at all? Most people believe that Humpty Dumpty was actually a large cannon. Over time, people began to imagine Humpty as a round, clumsy egg—which makes the story much more fun to tell at bedtime!
