A very long time ago — even before your grandparents' grandparents were born — amazing animals called dinosaurs lived on Earth. They roamed forests, splashed through rivers, and walked across wide, sandy plains. Let's travel back in time to meet them!
Dinosaurs lived during a time called the Mesozoic Era. That's a big word that means "middle life." This era lasted over 160 million years! That's so long it's hard to imagine. Humans have only been around for about 300,000 years.
The world looked very different back then. All the land was joined together in one giant piece called Pangaea. It was warm almost everywhere, and thick forests grew from pole to pole. There was no ice at the North or South Pole!
